My brother got married to his fiancee, Elaine, and they are now a very happy husband and wife making footprints in the sands at Hawaii. I feel really happy for both of them. They got married at Cain Manor in Alton and it was perfect: my brother's long-term friend Dave Allon was playing with his Rythm & Blues band, the food was exquisite and both Mike and Elaine's friends were a blend of funny, intelligent, warm people. My only regret is that I cannot go back to that moment in time and savour every moment as i was focused purely on making sure everything went as planned. Even my speech was well received - although it is worth remembering that i rehersed non-stop for two weeks (even on the train courtesy of my iPaq), my brother on the other hand prepared his speech the night before and got a round of laughter within the opening lines.
I'm glad Mike has found someone to share his life with (and believe me, Elaine is one of the most lovable people I've ever met). I mean, my endless encounters with strange women which may or may not end in success only serve to make me feel more isolated at times, but seeing that is possible to love someone so much you wish to celebrate a marital union with them gives me hope that the future, unpredictable though it is, is full of dreams that make their way towards you given time.
Be sure to check out the photos here. I'll be adding more as and when i get time.
